Exhibition: MAINSPRING

Womxn. The centre of it all. This March Soho House Toronto pays a tribute to all Womxn, through various perspectives that draw memory and emotion. Three artists occupy space exploring fantasy and desire, juxtaposition and abstraction of physical imagery and fragmented ideas of reality.

Curated by Ashley McKenzie-Barnes, artists Dara Vandor, Florence Solis and Tahsin the Good display a compelling and captivating body of work meant to spark intrigue and self-reflection and explore intimacy and the human body.

Exhibition: FOR SHOW

As part of Black History Month, Soho House Toronto profiles three emerging artists working in the realm of collage, photography, design and illustration.

Curated by Ashley McKenzie-Barnes, FOR SHOW spotlights the work of Aaron Jones, Alexis Eke and Ishmil Waterman through constructed characters, and surreal environments that consider representation of divinity, femininity, evangelism and self-identity. Piece by piece, the show aspires to demystify notions of body placement and forged personality characteristics within people of colour.
