The Know Your Rights Camp Legal Defense Initiative
In February we debuted a public art installation, courtesy of Colin Kaeperknick’s (@kaepernick7) Know Your Rights Camp (@yourrightscamp) as part of Harbourfront Centre’s (@harbourfrontcentre) #Kuumba25 with the intention of raising awareness for the initiative. KYRC serves as a safe space for youth to gain legal knowledge on violent encounters with authorities, using their mission to advance the liberation and well-being of these communities through education, self-empowerment and mass-mobilization.
They’ve recently launched The Know Your Rights Camp Legal Defense initiative, providing legal resources for victims of police brutality and civil rights violations.
